“Ekene” is a Igbo expression for praise,
thankfulness, To Kalvin, founder, Ekene's Dreams is about the realization of potential. It's about turning visions into reality — but it all started with a dream. In this case, this is his.
It’s not easy starting something new, especially when it address something fragile like starting a new endeavor. I wanted to treat this project with utmost care.
A bold font, a thick line weight & the brush strokes culturally roots itself in West African heritage.
I had fun marrying all these visual elements together to create a cool, vibe-y logo that looks like there’s a flow and the symbols are dancing around.
Ekene’s Dreams is an independent film production company.
The logo project holds African roots & a ode to an ancient proto-writing system used for graphic communication called Nsibidi.
